Jessica, Bryan, Jay, and a Big Mac

So here is my (Bryan) somewhat pathetic attempt at shoving a McDonald's Big Mac into my mouth in 10 seconds. In rehersals I had done it too fast and they wanted me to finish right at 10 second so I tried to take my time a little bit more, but it led to a bit of rushing at the end and a very messy finish. Do I really care? Sort of, but not really. Jessica and I had a great time, we lived like miniature celebrities for a day, the trip was free, Jessica and I were on national television together, I got paid for it, and now I can say I have been on Letterman and Leno, which I think is pretty cool. Next show...Deal or no Deal!

Good job with the old poll, good luck with the new

It turns out that all 6 of the people who gave an answer in our latest poll knew exactly how tall Jessica was, that being 5'10". I, Bryan, suspect there was some kind of foul play or trickery, but I can't prove it. With me being on Leno, this next poll is inspired by such. Best of luck and may you always find our polls (really my polls because Jessica thinks they are dumb) exciting and enjoyable to your visual senses.

Most of you have heard, but if not, Bryan will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Wednesday, March 19th. He will be featured during the Freaks of Nature segment. The task he is to perform is to get a McDonald's Big Mac in his mouth in 10 seconds or less. The show is flying us both out to Los Angeles, putting us up in the Sheraton Universal, and driving us around in a limo. We are excited, but will miss our kids as this is the first time we have both been away from them overnight at the same time. We're what you call overprotective parents. In Bryan's own words, "Tune in if you would like to watch me make a fool of myself." We will post real pictures of our trip when we get back.

Sick Bug

The kids both got sick when we got back from Utah. Jake ran a fever and mostly laid around but Kate's eyes swelled up. I just had to show how sad she looked.

We got to spend some time in Utah to end 2007 and start 2008. We had a great time seeing friends in Logan (big thanks to Missy for giving us a place to stay) and then we headed down to Salt Lake City for Ty's wedding. It is always fun whenever we can get everyone together. It never seems to last long enough though. Other than poor little Logan being sick and the extra day it took getting back, a good time was had by all.

Why don't you update your blog?

Yeah why don't I? I have only heard that about 100 times. Things were a bit busy for a while but I think I will take a stab at getting caught up and try staying that way. I will try to list some of the major events that have happened in the last few months in order of when they happened. Here we go...
-Kate turned one
-Went to Washington for early Christmas
-Christmas in Medford
-Utah for New Years and visiting friends
-Tyler and Janna's wedding

-Jessica began training for her first marathon
-Decided we will move back to Logan so Bryan can get his MBA

The new face of McDonalds?

I initially posted this video so that some of the Executives of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno could see me eat a Big Mac in one bite, but as of right now I don' know whether I'll be on the show or not. Regardless of if I am or not though, I would still like to eat a Big Mac in the same fashion I am doing in this video on national television, so Ellen DeGeneres, if you see this leave a comment and we'll hook up.

Holiday cheer and sea sickness

Kate has turned into quite the climber. From bar stools, to beds, to chairs, you name it she wants on it. This is the first time she got on the rocking horse by herself, hence the beaming face.

Sick funny kid

Jake got sick one night last week. He just threw up once and we never figured out why. As a precaution he spent the rest of the night with a bowl. He took the "hold this bowl" a little to seriously and literally kept his face in it. As you can see he also took it into bed with him and fell asleep with it at the ready.

Ashland parade

The day after Thanksgiving I went with the kids and some friends to a little parade and tree lighting in Ashland (Bryan had to work late, sad). It was pretty chilly and the parade only lasted about 10 minutes but at least we got to see Santa from a distance and have some hot chocolate.Jake on Matt's shoulders so he could see the parade Kate all bundled up.

I'm walkin'

I know it is a bit fuzzy, but until I can get clips off our video camera on here it is what I've got. Kate is a walking fool and is getting faster by the day. She likes seeing things from a new viewpoint and I'm sure it won't be long before she is running around with Jake. Oh the simple days of putting babies on blankets and having them stay are gone. They were fun while they lasted but it is so fun to watch them grow.

More good times in the closet

Kate has taken to emptying the top shelf of my shoe rack and climbing up on it. We aren't quite sure what the attraction is but she is so proud perched up there. One night we found her in there in the dark by herself just as happy as can be.

Sure she is a little foggy looking in the morning, but how can you not smile when that is what you get to wake up to.

Our little "linky log" holder

Jake calls them "linky logs". Kate does not call them anything, partly because she can't talk and even if she could talk she always has them in her mouth. They are now stored up high because of the obvious choking hazard, but if she finds one anywhere she will haul it around in her mouth all day.

So tell me how you feel

Since Jake was pretty young we could name an emotion and he has a face to go with it. It turns out, he's still got it. Show me suprised.Show me mad. If only his real mad face looked this nice.Show me happy.

Let the catching up begin!

I have been reminded many times that I have been a big blogging slacker so I am making a come back. It is kind of funny though because I was asked the other day when Kate started walking and it just so happens to be when I stopped blogging. Coincidence, I think not. These first few pictures are some stragglers from Halloween. Bryan and the kiddos getting ready to carve the pumpkin and the finished product. We used little pegs that lit up when you turn the light on in the pumpkin. It would not show up on a picture in the dark so you get to see it with the light on. Then there is just a picture of Kate in her festive clothes.
